Sharing a thought

Every now and then I get comfortable enough to share my thoughts with the outside world. I put them in a song, I write them down, I turn them into a piece of art in some way. this time I made them into a piece of spoken word poetry and I would like to get it out into the world.

I will not explain what it is about, read it like you would look at a painting at a museum. read it and talk about it with a friend.  share with a family member or keep it to yourself.

It's not me

I know you think you know

Everything there is to know

And I know there’s nothing I can say

To make you think otherwise

Cause colour-wise

You live in black and white

While I see purples and reds

orange is the sun that shines on my face

And takes my sorrows away

How the wind blows the heavy thought from my mind.

When I think to myself it is not me, it is not me

It’s not me, it’s not me but if it’s not me

It might be you.

I know you think you know

Everything there is to know

And I know there’s nothing I can say

To make you think otherwise

Because I realize that

If I let you lead me in life

The fire in my eyes might die

Green is the grass I feel under my bare feet

While I ground myself to make the right decision

How the rain make the pain drift away from my heart

When I say to myself it’s not me it’s not me

It’s not me, it’s not me but, if it’s not me

It might be you.

I know you think you know

Everything there is to know

And I know there’s nothing I can say

To make you think otherwise

While I live for fireflies and  lullabies

You want me to live by you rules and

Your rules only, and If I don’t you’ll say it my fault.

I breath the clean air from the bright blue sky

As I let you be you but I choose me

How the love I’m surrounded with makes me truly happy

And I tell myself it’s alright to choose me

It’s not me, I choose me and yes, if I choose me

It will be you.

I hope this piece gives you something, something to talk about, something to think about.

yours truly,

Miss M
